TOUCHSCREEN COMPATIBILITY POLICY

The pointing device interface for an application, where such an interface is required, should be suitable for use by users of touchscreen devices and should follow the requirements of this policy.

Single finger selection

The pointing device interface should be suitable for selection by the use of a single finger:

Component selection should be by single click method. Special selection processes, such as a double click or right click method are not allowed.

The pointing device interface screen components including buttons, menu items, and other widgets etc, should be of a suitable size and suitably spaced for selection by a human finger.

Adjustable widget sizes and spacing

The window manager must be configurable, to allow adjustment of the size and spacing of the screen components.
