There are several versions of the Internet Superserver Daemon:

netkit-inetd

This daemon listens on various TCP and UDP ports and spawns service programs.

Not Used

inetutils-inetd		This daemon is larger than the netkit daemon and has additional dependencies.
openbsd-inetd		This daemon supports IPv6, built-in libwrap, binding to specific addresses, UNIX domain sockets and socket buffers tuning.
